This page contains the proceedings of the first year of the organization.
The idea of Sariling Gawa began in the spring of 1980. By summer and through fall, members diligently worked on developing its philosophy, goal, objectives, and activities. Eventually, the grass-roots group began networking and partnering with individuals and groups across the state to plan and prepare for eight community conferences. At the start of 1981, members collected valuable information at these conferences, which became the key topics at the main conference in March 1981.
In June 1981, the group published
the proceedings of the conference series entitled
“Present and Future Challenges of Filipino Young Adults:
A Conference Series”.
This publication has been coined
“The Yellow Book”.
